CRY’s new website
CRY have relaunched their website at http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/ and it features a few familiar, if younger looking, faces.
The charity says it is still a work in progress but it already features a section on Memorial Funds and you can see Tom’s page here http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/memorial-funds

You also don’t need to raise sponsorship. Great if you can but it’s as much about raising awareness.

Sue Howells, Claire Prosser and Chris Pearson brave the rain.
Claire’s pop-up book sale raised a further £168 for CRY on Saturday – despite the torrential rain.
“I was surprised but really pleased by how much we raised,” said Claire. “I’m also very grateful to all those who bought books and especially to Sue and Chris for helping.”
The money adds to the £870 raised by Claire’s main book sale in May – which also had to contend with wet weather – and means that the two events have raised a grand total of £1038.
The sales take place outside Munson’s Coffee, St Mary’s Road. Ealing. All unsold books are donated to Oxfam in Ealing so nothing goes to waste.

Walk the walk, wear the T-shirt! Sign up for Cardiac Risk in the Young’s eighth annual London Bridges Walk on Sunday 6th July by clicking here.
The route includes great views of at least 12 of London’s famous landmarks, representing the 12 young sudden cardiac deaths that occur each week in the UK.
That’s 12 too many. The vast majority of young people aged 14-35 who die could have been diagnosed and treated by screening.
Please help to get the message across by signing up for the walk.

Unbowed under-cover: from left to right, Claire with helpers Rob Sanders, Jo Tucker, Martin Hale, Andy Howells, Elin Hale, Chris Tucker and Sue Howells.
With six months to go in Tom’s Fund’s attempt to raise £100,000 to provide more free heart screenings for young people, we are closing in on our target.
After all the brilliant recent support, we are now into the ‘teens’ and need around £19,000 to make the £100k that we’d love to mark the year during which Tom would have been 21.
For my part, rain failed to dampen our spirits – as we used to write in my old newspaper days – when we held our most recent book sale.
With the help of a gazebo belonging to Rob and Caro Sanders and lots of volunteers we managed to raise £870 at the event outside Munsons cafe in South Ealing.
A generous donation from Munsons took us over the £80,000 mark – all of which will go towards CRY’s heart screenings and research.
So hugest thanks once again to Mario and the baristas, customers and helpers who made it such a successful day.

An evening of song in aid of Tom’s Fund raised £500 at the LVS School in Ascot, Berkshire, on May 20.
The staff and parents’ choir put on a packed evening of entertainment and headmistress Christine Cunniffe said: “I was incredibly impressed by the standard of the performances from the choir and soloists.
“Many of the performers were pushed out of their comfort zones and I can only praise them for the achievements. They came together so passionately and enthusiastically to raise money for Tom’s charity. Well done to everyone involved.”
Apart from singing, Mrs Cunniffe also performed a rendition of the first movement of Mozart’s piano concerto in D Minor with piano teacher James Bryant.
CRY and Tom’s Fund was brought to the school’s attention by family friends Juliet and Clive Matthews, whose son attends LVS.

Done it! Indy at the end of the race.
Indy Sahota raised more than £200 for Tom’s Fund and loads of awareness after wearing a CRY T-shirt during her first ever 10k run, the BUPA 10,000 in London on Sunday.
“It was completely exhilarating,” said Indy. “I set two goals for the day; not to stop during the run and to finish in an hour.” She achieved both aims.
“Seeing a Team CRY T-shirt halfway through spurred me on and it was great to celebrate with everybody at the CRY stand after the race. An amazing day!”
Indy, who works for the BBC, is a former colleague of Paul and Claire.
