All set for the @CRY_UK screenings #Ealing

CRY screenings, November 2014

Dr David Evans, centre, of the Florence Road surgery greets members of the CRY team.

The Tom’s Fund/CRY free heart screenings for young people aged 14-35 are taking place today in Ealing.

The event, hosted by the Florence Road surgery in Florence Road, Ealing, is fully booked.

As ever, the event couldn’t take place without all those who have supported us by fund-raising. We’ll update later on how the day went.

Keeping Faith with @CRY_UK

Faith Howells, Ealing Half

Nearly there – Faith on the home stretch.

Faith Howells raised nearly £400 and a shedload of awareness when she wore her CRY T-shirt while competing for Tom’s Fund in the Ealing half-marathon on Sunday, September 28.

In what was Faith’s first half-marathon, she also beat her target time of 2 hours 20 minutes by a whopping 18 minutes.

“I’m a little bit tired but very happy” said family friend Faith, a close friend of Tom’s, after the event.

You can still sponsor Faith here.

Booking open for Tom’s @CRY_UK screenings

Free heart screenings sponsored by Tom’s Fund for young people aged 14-35 can now be booked online at http://www.testmyheart.org/

This year’s screenings will be held on Sunday, November 9, and once again we must thank the Florence Road surgery in Florence Road, Ealing, for hosting the event.

If you have any queries, please do not ring the surgery but contact CRY on 01737 363222 (10am – 5pm Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays) or by emailing cry@c-r-y.org.uk

Tom’s Fund has supported screenings, mainly in west London, every year since 2009. More than 1,000 young people have been screened. We are, as ever, incredibly grateful to all those who have supported us by fund-raising. Without their efforts, these screenings would not take place.

Good luck to Isa running for @CRY_UK

CRY Bupa great north run

The Great North Run

Family friend Isabel Turner is running in the Great North Run tomorrow in memory of Tom.

Isa has already raised £2,500 for CRY and said “The run will be a really tough challenge for me but I will be spurred on every step of the way by the memory of Tom’s energy, joie de vivre and laughter which still feel so fresh.”

The half-marathon starts in Newcastle-on-Tyne and ends in South Shields.
