It’s because of people like Faith …

Ealing half-maration

We’re holding our next free heart screenings for young people aged 14-35 in Ealing on November 9 – and it’s because of the fund-raising efforts of people such as Faith Howells that we are able to do so.

Family friend Faith will be pushing herself to run further than ever before in this Sunday’s Ealing half-marathon.

Faith said: “I have never attempted a half-marathon and so this will be my biggest challenge so far. CRY is important to me because my close friend Tom died unexpectedly from an undiagnosed heart condition when he was 14.

“CRY are incredible both at raising awareness of conditions like Tom’s and increasing opportunities for 14-35 year olds to identify cardiac irregularities through their free screenings.

“I saw first-hand the benefits of these screenings when a minor irregularity in my sister was detected and checked out.”

Faith continued: “I discovered my love for running when I was 17 and have kept it up over my three years at university. Any money raised for Tom’s Fund will help towards screening in west London so donations large or small would go towards this incredibly important cause and spur me on to reach my personal best!”

NB: The Ealing November 9 screenings are now fully booked. We plan to hold further free screenings in Spring and Autumn 2015. Follow this site on Twitter, Facebook, Linked-In or by email for updates.
